1930 OR CENSUS - Roy Hatfield, age 33, married at age 22, occupation railroad laborer, b. Missouri, is enumerated with wife Velma, age 29, married at age 18, b. Washington, along with Robert, age 9, b. Washington, Henry, age 8, b. Washington, and Edward, age 4, b. Oregon. Also enumerated with the family is William J. Hatfield, identified as father [of Roy], age 74 widowed, b. Kentucky.
TURNER – Services for Roy Hatfield, 67 year old Turner resident who died Wednesday night in a Salem nursing home after a long illness, will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Barrick Chapel in Salem, Rev. E.J. Gillespie officiating. Interment will be at Turner IOOF Cemetery.
Hatfield was born in Missouri and was a World War I veteran. He was a retired Marion County highway department employe[e].
Surviving are the widow, Velma; two daughters, Mrs. Byron L. Fortsch, Beaverton, and Mrs. William A. Read, Salem; and five sons, Robert, Edward and Orville, all Salem; Henry, Turner; and James with the Navy in Maryland; and several grandchildren.
