OBITUARY: 
Clyde E. Butcher, 78, of 11214 Summit Loop SE, died Thursday at home.
Born in Des Moines, Iowa, he came to Salem in 1914. He moved to North Bend, where he was a baker at Beck’s Bakery until 1945 when he moved to Anchorage, Alaska. He returned to Oregon in 1971, following his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Iva B.; sons, Elvin L., Turner, Melvin J., Mulino, Eldon D., Anchorage, and five grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m Monday at Howell-Edwards-Doerksen mortuary, Salem, with interment at Cloverdale Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society.
