OBITUARY:
WOODBURN - Born at McMinnville, he graduated from St. Paul High School. William was married to Barbara Dungey on Sept. 16, 1950 in St. Paul and they made their home in St. Paul where he owned and operated a service station and wrecking yard. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict as a Sergeant. He was a member of the V.F.W., Catholic Church at St. Paul, St. Paul Fire Dept. and St. Paul Rodeo Assoc. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and attending auctions. Survived by children, William ‘Bill’ Bernard of Woodburn, Janice Bernard of Keizer, Pete Bernard of Newberg; sister, Marge Myhra; 4 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. His wife, Barbara, preceded him in death on August 24, 2002. Visiting will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thur., April 6 at Cornwell Colonial Chapel. Memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Fri., April 7 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Woodburn. Private interment at Fairfield Cemetery, Gervais. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Fire Dept./Ambulance Fund or the American Diabetes Assoc.
