F. W. Haack, 92, Succumbs
Frederick William Haack, 92, a resident of Marion for more than 50 years, died Thursday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Max Schulz, Jefferson.
Haack, a retired farmer, was born Feb. 26, 1866, at Theressa, Dodge County, Wis., and lived in Iowa and California before coming to Oregon in 1890. He moved back to California three years later and returned to Oregon and settled in the Marion area in 1906.
His wife, Anna Olson Rusley, died Dec. 15, 1934. He had lived with his daughter in Jefferson for the past nine months.
He was a member of the Lutheran Church, the Farmers Union and Marion Community Club.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Schulz, Jefferson; Mrs. Viola Brander, Troutdale; Miss Laura Haack, San Francisco; Mrs. Bonnie Doerfler, Albany; and Mrs. Olivia Kaplinger, Mill City; a son Frank Haack, Santa Cruz, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.; Services will be held Monday 2 p.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church at Marion, the Rev. E. H. Becker officiating. Interment will be at Marion Cemetery. Virgil T. Golden Mortuary is in charge.
