OBITUARY: 
The funeral of Jack Thompson Hurd was held at the Friends church Friday afternoon. Hurd was born at Centralia, Wash., Dec. 14, 1916 and died suddenly at his home near Eugene Jan. 12. Rev. Robert Smith conducted the services and interment was in the Friends cemetery. His mother was formerly Millie Slyter and resided here. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. S.N. Hurd and two sisters of Eugene; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.M. Slyter of Marion and other relatives.
