OBITUARY: 
Clyde Alton Cooper, 70, of Albany died Friday at Albany Care Center.
Mr. Cooper was born in Glen Ullin, N.D., the son of Lloyd Alva and Racheal (Bergitha) Larsen, and moved to the Albany area in 1942.  He served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was proud to be a veteran.
He married Ella Mae Garoulie on Oct. 12, 1948, and they later divorced.  He married Martha Ray Brightman on Aug. 16, 1976, in San Rafael, Calif.
He did maintenance work and was a truck driver hauling heavy equipment for the Southern Pacific Railroad fpr 20 years.  He retired in 1973.
Mr. Cooper enjoyed fishing, camping, working with his hands and gardening.  He belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a life member of the Korean War Veterans.
Surviving are wife Martha, son Clyde L. of Modesto, Calif., and Marie Smith of Salem; stepsons Harold and Allen Sparhawk, both of Drain; and seven grandchildren.
Many brothers and two sisters died before Mr. Cooper.
A graveside service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Friends Church Cemetery west of Marion.
