Germany, year of immigration 1899, is enumerated with his wife Maggie N.[Nina?], age 43, married at age 22, b. Kansas, along with children Margaretha F., age 20, Ernest C., age 18, John R., age 17, Anna C., age 15, Edward O., age 14, Henry O., age 12, Mabel N., age 10, Alfred F., age 8, Bertha D., age 4, and Elisabeth A., age 1, all born in Oregon.

Death Claims Salem Resident – Christian Kihs, resident of Salem for some 55 years, died Sunday at a Salem nursing home. He was 86. The residence is at 280 21st St. SE. He was a member of the Lutheran Church.
Kihs was a farmer and a laborer in Salem. He was born in Germany and moved to Salem from Michigan in 1904.
Survivors include the widow, Maggie Kihs, Salem; four sons, Ernest, Eugene, John, Cave Junction; Edward, Waldport, Ore., and Fred Kihs, Salem; four daughters, Elizabeth Elsom, Philomath, Margaret Bowman, Salem; Anna Janney, Phoenix, Ariz., and Mabel Kilmer, Salem.
Services are pending at the W. T. Rigdon mortuary.
