BIOGRAPHICAL
(Source - Elizabeth Kenoyer Davis compiler of "Preachers-Farmers-Pioneers" The Kenoyer Family in America, 1971):
"Jeremiah Kenoyer was the son of Fredrick and Mary Magdeline (Pfrimmer) Kenoyer. He married Elizabeth Cuppy on 26 April 1840 in Jasper County, IN. On May 9, 1853, he with his family and a company of pioneers crossed the Missouri River at Council Bluffs, IA and began a trek to Oregon Territory. On May 10th Jeremiah was elected Captain of the Wagon Train. After arriving in Oregon Territory, Jeremiah, a United Brethren Minister, rode his circuit preaching and converting as well as helping establish schools in Philomath and Sublimity Oregon and Albion Washington. Jeremiah died in Albion, WA and is buried in the town cemetery".
