She was born in Clarinda, Iowa. She moved to Oregon in 1950 from Nebraska. She resided in Sublimity since 1970. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and gardening. She married Ed Breitenstein on June 5, 1970, in Sublimity. Survivors include her husband; daughter, Peggy Schmidt of Carlton; sons, Art Hammang of Dayton and Larry Hammang of Oregon City; brothers, Milo Farrens of LaPine, Paul Farrens of Pasadena, Calif., and Gerald Farrens of Coos Bay; sisters, Dorothy Leason of Casper, Wyo., and Patty Douglas of Woodland, Calif.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday in St. Boniface Church, Sublimity. Private family graveside services will be at Hobson-Whitney Cemetery, Sublimity. Arrangements are by Weddle mortuary, Stayton.
