1930 OR CENSUS - John W. Stephens, age 50, single, occupation lumber mill laborer, b. Illinois, is enumerated as brother-in-law in the home of Roy Akins, age 36, occupation lumber mill laborer, b. Oregon, and his wife Winifred, age 40, b. Illinois, along with Leroy Akins, age 5 months, b. Oregon, and Charles L. Akins, identified as father [of Roy], age 72, widowed, b. Missouri.
OBITUARY: 
At Marion, Ore., October 24, John Wesley Stephens, aged 58. Survived by brother Grover Stephens of Marion; sister, Mrs. Winifred Akins, of Lyons. Services will be held Wednesday, October 26, at 2 p.m. from the Walker & Howell company chapel, under direction of Jefferson IOOF lodge. Burial Hunsaker Cemetery.
