1870 OR CENSUS - Rich Hubbard, age 27, b. Indiana, is enumerated with wife Mary, age 25, b. Iowa, along with son Peter, age 5, b. Oregon.
1880 OR CENSUS - Richard Hubbard, age 40, (disability - paralysis), b. Illinois, is enumerated with wife Mary J., age 34, b. Illinois, along with Henry, age 4, b. Oregon.
DISCREPANCY - 1870 Census gives birthplace as Indiana, other census records give birthplace as Illinois.
OBITUARY: 
Richard Hubbard, whose wife died at the time the Sconce family all died, is very ill at the residence of his nephew near Salem, and may not recover.

At his home, five miles east of Salem, Tuesday morning, February 16, 1892, from cancer, Richard Hubbard, age 51 years. Deceased was born in Illinois, and came to Oregon in 1853, settling in Marion county, where he has resided ever since.
He was a brother of T. H. Hubbard, of this city, and leaves a son, Elmer, and three sisters -- Mrs. Gabriel, of Dayton, and Mrs. Foster and Mrs. Robbins, of Klamath county. Mrs. Eliza Hummbard [sic?], his mother, lives at Dayton. His wife died last April from la grippe.
Mr. Hubbard was a uncle of the Sconce children, who died near Lewisberg last spring, during the ravages of influenza.
The funeral will be held today and the remains will be buried in the Lewisberg cemetery.
