1880 OR CENSUS - Jacob Kiesling [Kissling], age 11 months, b. Jul 1879 in Oregon, is enumerated as a boarder in the home of John Hyerly, age 47, occupation farmer, b. Switzerland, and his wife Elizabeth, age 49, b. Ohio, and their children, Mary, Elizabeth, John, Barbara, Sarah, Judith and Dianna, all born in Ohio.
1920 IL CENSUS - Jacob Kissling, age 40, occupation milk wagon driver, b. Oregon, is enumerated with his wife Pearl, age 40, b. Kansas.
1930 IL CENSUS - Jacob Kissling, divorced, age 50, occupation cab starter, b. Oregon.
BIOGRAPHICAL (From Mt. Hope Cemetery, pg 171):
Jacob Paul Kissling, b. July 11, 1879, Willard, Oregon. Jake was the second son of Lena (Magdalena) Bass and John (Johannes Augustus) Kissling. He attended school at Willard and was a member of the 1902 class at Oregon Agricultural College, now OSU, Corvallis. Jake lived most of his adult life in Chicago, Illinois working as a “starter,” a manager of a cab company. He was married, but divorced with no children.
He died of pneumonia in Chicago December 12, 1932. He was survived by his half-siblings, Mary Luthy, and Fred and Hans Kissling. Jake was preceded in death by one older brother, John, Jr., an unnamed stillborn brother, and his half-brother, William.
OBITUARY: 
At Chicago, Dec. 12, J.P. Kissling, aged 53 years. Brother of F. Kissling of Pontiac, Mich., H.W. Kissling of Garibaldi, Ore., Mrs. E.P. Luthey of Powell Butte. He was a native of Marion county, born July 11, 1879, a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kissling. Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 19 at 1:30 p.m. from Rigdon’s mortuary. Interment Waldo Hills cemetery.
