Mr. Thomas moved his family from Illinois to Iowa and after some years moved to Nebraska, where he remained for about 16 years, after which he moved to Woodburn, Oregon, where he remained for some time and later moved to Ellensburg, Wash., where his life partner was taken from him by the angel of death. After this, Mr. Thomas came to dwell with his daughter, Mrs. Geo. Given, where he remained until the time of his death. Mr. Thomas became affiliated with the Christian Church in his youth and from which he never parted. He was a man of kindly disposition, a kind husband and loving parent. His remains were conveyed by loving hands to the Warren Cemetery, where they were tenderly laid to rest beneath a mound of flowers. Rev. Wm. Short of Salem preached the funeral sermon.
