OBITUARY:
Turner – The sudden death of Robert Givens Wednesday morning at his home south of Turner saddened the community. For several months the deceased had been in poor health and recently became despondent over his condition and while his father and sister were out of the house Robert shot himself.
Robert Givens was 25 years of age at the time of his death. Besides his father, W. T. Givens, two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Stephenson of Oregon City, Miss May Givens of Turner, one brother, Gerald Givens of Turner, survive; also his uncle, George Given of Turner, two cousins, James Givens of Portland, Gladys Givens of Turner, and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at the Weddle funeral parlors at Stayton Friday afternoon with many beautiful floral offerings. Interment took place in the Warren Cemetery in the Waldo Hills where Robert Givens was laid to rest beside his mother and sister.
