Services are pending at Unger Funeral Chapel in Silverton.

Silverton – C. Robert Riches, 77, died Tuesday in Silverton. He was born and lived his entire life in Silverton. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Silverton United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Martha, whom he married November 4, 1939, in Silverton; son, Robert L. of Silverton; daughter, Nancy Gillitzer of Clovis, Calif.; brother, Ted Riches of Silverton; and sister, Winifred Riches of Mount Angel.
Private graveside services at Mount Hope Cemetery will be followed by a memorial service at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the church. Contributions may be made to the church. Arrangements are by Unger Mortuary.

Silverton – Charles Robert Riches died Dec. 13 at his Silverton home. He was 77. Born Jan. 26, 1911, in Silverton, he lived his entire life here. He made his livelihood in general farming.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church. He married Martha Goodknecht Nov. 4, 1939, in Silverton. She survives him.
Other survivors include son Robert L. Riches of Silverton; daughter Nancy Gillitzer of Clovis, CA; brother Ted Riches of Silverton; sister Winnifred Riches of Mt. Angel; and three grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Dec. 17 at the United Methodist Church followed by private family graveside services. Interment was in Mount Hope Cemetery, Rev. Gary Powell and Rev. Paul Henry officiated. Unger Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the United Methodist Church.
