OBITUARY:
Cottage Grove – Julia Ann Hoffer, 60, died Saturday. She was born in Washington state and had lived in Southern California before moving to Cottage Grove recently.
Her parents, Frank and Helen Alm, former residents of Portland and Silverton, both died in 1982.
Survivors include her husband, Richard L.; and daughters Marcia Russo of Buena Park, Calif., Chris Weaver of Belmont, Calif., and Mary Kathryn Fleming of Cyprus, Calif.
Graveside services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Silverton. Smith-Lund-Mills mortuary, Cottage Grove, is handling arrangements. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Juliann Alm Hoffer of Cottage Grove died May 22. She was 60. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Helen Alm and the granddaughter of Silverton pioneers Julius and Carrie Alm and John and Gertrude Currie. She attended Silverton High School and Oregon State University.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Hoffer, of Los Angeles, CA; and children of the Los Angeles area.
Graveside service was held Tuesday at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Waldo Hills.
