OBITUARY: 
Edith M. Cooper, 79, of Salem Died Monday.
Born in Max, N.D., she moved to Oregon in 1941. She was a welder in the shipyards and worked for Paulus Brothers Cannery in the summer. She enjoyed fishing and playing pinochle. Her husband, Roy E., died in 1980.
Survivors include her daughters, Etta Schafer of Aumsville, Marcia Cooper of Salem and Vicki Eder of LaPine; brother Frances Cooper of Stanton, N.D.; sister Minnie Wickson of Washington; 12 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visiting will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today and 8 a.m. to noon Thursday in Rigdon-Ransom Mortuary. Interment will be private. Contributions: American Red Cross or American Cancer Society.
