Walter W. Large
March 27, 1934 - May 10, 2000
Walter Large, 66, of Salem died Wednesday. Cause of death was unavailable.
He was born in El Paso, Texas, and served in the Army during the Korean War and in the California National Guard for 21 years. He moved from California to Salem in 1974 and was a consultant for the state of Oregon from 1976 to 1996. He was an elder and member of People’s Church and involved in Prison Fellowship Ministries.
Survivors include his wife, Nettie; sons, Bill and Mike, both of Salem, and John of Salt Lake City; daughter, Michelle Smith of Bend; and eight grandchildren.
Visiting will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Unger Funeral Chapel in Silverton. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at People’s Church in Salem. Interment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery, east of Salem.
Contributions: church missionary fund.
