1900 OR CENSUS - Roy J. Simeral, age 19, occupation farm laborer, b. Sep 1880 in Oregon, is enumerated with father Wilton L., age 45, b. Mar 1855 in Iowa, and his wife of 23 years, Emma C., age 42, b. Aug 1857 in Iowa, along with Raymond, W., age 17, b. Jul 1882, George S., age 14, b. May 1886, and Myrtle C., age 12, b. May 1888, all born in Oregon. Also enumerated with the family is Almira E. Simeral, identified as mother [of Wilton], age 67, widow, mother of 5 children 4 of whom are living at the time fo the census, b. New York;
MARRIAGE - At the M. E. parsonage in this city, Wednesday, October 30, at noon, Mr. Leroy J. Simeral and Miss Lennie M. English. The bride is quite well known in Silverton; the groom is manager of the Governor Geer farm near Salem. There they will make their home. Mr. Simeral and wife have the congratulations and best wishes of a large circle of friends, and with these the Silverton Appeal unites in “Bon Voyage.”

1930 OR CENSUS - LeRoy J. Simeral, age 49, married at age 21, occupation supt. at city incinerator, b. Oregon, is enumerated with wife Linnie M., age 51, married at age 23, b. Oregon;
OBITUARY: 
Roy Simeral Dies From Mill Injury – Was Salem Native, Former Alderman, Member of the School Board. Leroy J. Simeral, 52, former Salem City councilman, school director and later incinerator superintendent, died in a Vancouver, Wash., hospital Wednesday night from injuries he received 10 weeks ago in the plywood factory there, friends learned yesterday. Death was caused by infection which set in after he was injured.
Last June Mr. Simeral went to work in the mill which had just received a contract to provide all veneer work for a Detroit motorcar company.
Simeral was a native of Salem and long took a prominent part in civic affairs. He served two terms as alderman, one preceding, the other during the administration of Mayor T. A. Livesley, who went out of office in 1930. For nine years he was a member of the Salem school board. He was succeeded two years ago by Mrs. Roy S. Keene. Until a year ago, he superintended operation of the city incinerator. Previously, he had been employed by the P.E.P. Company.
Organizations with which he was affiliated included the Turner Masonic Lodge, Salem Woodmen of the World, and the Baptist church. Surviving are his widow, Linnie M. Simeral, his mother, Mrs. Emma C. Simeral, and son, J. W. Simeral, all of Salem; two brothers, R. W. Simeral of Portland and George F. Simeral of Pixley, Calif., and one sister, Mrs. Myrtle C. Taylor of Salem.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at the Clough-Barrick Chapel. The hour has not yet been set. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
