OBITUARY: 
Pioneer Passes Away – Mrs. Lucinda Jarvis Anderson, wife of J.F. Anderson, died Thursday evening at the family home on Howell Prairie, of pneumonia, and the funeral will be held from the late home tomorrow (Sunday) at 10 o’clock a.m. The burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, 10 miles east of Salem, Rev. P.S. Knight of this city, conducting the services.
Mrs. Anderson was born in Virginia, November 7, 1832. She was married to Mr. J.F. Anderson November 4, 1856, at Burlington, Iowa. She was a woman who had a large circle of warm friends and was ever ready to lend a helping hand and loving sympathy.
Besides the husband, she is survived by the following children: Mrs. W.L. Simeral of Macleay; Mr. Soloman Anderson of Macleay; Mr. Geo. Anderson of Pratum; Mrs. Lizzie Flohrer of Denmark, Iowa, and Mrs. W.L. Simeral and the following sisters: Mrs. Jane Jarvis Harkleroad, Mrs. Louise Beck of Danville, Iowa, and Mrs. Harriet Riffle, and a brother, Mr. Wesley Jarvis. The grandchildren are: Leroy J. Simeral of Macleay; Raymond and George Simeral of Salem; Myrtle Simeral Taylor, McMinnville, Mrs. James Flohrer, Margarie, Maxwell, Dorothy, and Alta Flohrer, Middleton, Iowa; Carl Anderson, Macleay, and Bruce Anderson, Pratum, and one great grandson, Wilton Junior Simeral Macleay.
Mr. and Mrs. Anderson celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Sunday, November 4th of this year and it was a most enjoyable event, being attended by relatives from far and near. Mrs. Anderson was then quite well, and her death comes as a sad blow to her family.
