1930 OR CENSUS - J. O. Darby, age 38, married at age 28, occupation farmer, b. Oregon, is enumerated with wife Bertha, age 34, married at age 24, b. Oregon, along with Marvin, age 9, James, Jr., age 8, and Wesley, age 5 y's 10 m's, all born in Oregon;
OBITUARY: 
Silverton – James O. Darby, 67, late resident of Route 3, Box 66, Silverton, died Tuesday morning at the Silverton hospital where he has been for the past six days. He was born November 3, 1891 at Silverton, and lived here his entire life.
Survivors include his wife Bertha Krenz, Silverton; six children, Marvin and Wesley, The Dalles; Merlin and Gerald at Silverton; James, San Diego, and Mrs. Jean Nelson, Medford. There are three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Hofstetter and Ava Jane Darby, both Vancouver, Wash., and Mrs. Una Doerfler, Silverton. One brother, Ivan, lives in Mehama. There are five grandchildren.
Services will be Friday at 2 o’clock from the Memorial Chapel of Ekman Funeral Home in Silverton, with interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
