OBITUARY: 
WOODBURN — Walter Rogers, 76, died Saturday.
He was born in Salina, Okla., and served in the Navy during World War II. He was a machinist for Caterpillar for 25 years. He was a member of the Silverton Elks and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He lived in Silverton before moving to Woodburn 11 years ago.
Survivors include his wife, Cora, whom he married in 1965; sons, Stephen of Salem and Roger Umbenhower of Hubbard; daughters, Shirley Hoy of Salem, Beverly Dennison of Talent and Judy Umbenhower of Lebanon; brothers, John of Bishop, Calif., and Fred of Tacoma, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Visiting will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Cornwell Colonial Chapel. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Vault interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Salem.
