Rodney M. Senter, 72, of Woodburn, died Feb. 2, 2007.
Born Feb. 9, 1934 in Dora, N.M., he grew up in California and later enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean Conflict.
He met Wilma Parton and they were married in Woodburn. They lived in Eureka, Calif., where he worked for Standard Oil Co., driving truck from 1961 to 1972. In 1972 he bought jober route in Clear Lake, Calif. In 1982 they moved to Hawaii and worked in oil distribution until retiring in 1988 and moving to Woodburn. There, they farmed a filbert orchard. Wilma preceded him in death in 2005.
On Nov. 15, 2006 he married Julia Rice. He was a member of the Elks, Masonic, Shriners, Eagles and Moose lodges.
In addition to his wife, Julia of Woodburn, he is survived by his son, Thomas of Woodburn; brother, Derry Senter of Corning, Calif.; sister, Geneva Hanson of Red Bluff, Calif.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren
A funeral service with Elks ritual and military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 8 at Cornwell Colonial Chapel, Woodburn. Interment will be private at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Salem.
