1880 OR CENSUS - Sarah A. Condit, age 47, b. Ohio, is enumerated with husband Sylvanus Condit, age 57, occupation farmer & commissioner, b. Pennsylvania, along with Mary May C., age 20, and Lawrence W., age 18, both born in Oregon. Also enumerated with the family is Mary E. V. Blackerly, age 6 months (b. Nov), identified as being raised by Sylvanus, b. Oregon (she has hooping [sic] cough).
1910 OR CENSUS - Sarrah [sic] A. Condit, age 77, widow, mother of 4 children, one of whom is living at the time of the census, b. Ohio, is enumerated with Mary C., age 50, single, b. Oregon.
BIOGRAPHICAL (Source - Steeves, pg 289)::
"Just in passing, we will relate that Mrs. Sylvanus Condit was the good woman sent for in the community in every time of need. She was familiarly called “Aunt” Sarah. Because of her good sense, her ability as a nurse, her happy disposition, and her reputation as a good housewife, it mattered not if it were a birth, a wedding, or a funeral, Aunt Sarah’s presence was always appreciated. It was said of those who knew her best that fully one hundred sons and daughters of the pioneer folk around Aumsville and Turner first looked up into the face of Aunt Sarah Condit, while she gave them her first bath."

OBITUARY:
At her home at Turner, Tuesday, Jun 12, Mrs. Sarah A. Condit, 85 years old.
She is survived by her daughter Miss Mary C. Condit, and by Royal E. Condit amd Miss Alice A. Condit, the children of the late Lawrence Condit, a son.
The funeral will be held at Pleasant Grove church, tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. William MacLeod of Portland.
